ANNAPOLIS, MD -- January 29, 2004 -- A 205-page manual that addresses global logistics and cargo theft concerns is available from the National Cargo Security Council.

The soft-cover, 11-chapter volume, "Guidelines for Cargo Security & Loss Control," provides in-depth analysis of cargo security and discusses the challenges facing the transportation industry. Sixteen security topics and appendixes are featured, including developing an approach and plans for cargo security, seaports, air cargo and ground transportation; tracking, identification and control of personnel and cargo reports, and investigations and fraudulent documentation.

David Jones of Tommy Hilfiger U.S.A., Inc., Cranbury, N.J. was elected Chairman of the National Cargo Security Council (NCSC) for 2004. He will serve a one-year term as an officer beginning January 1. Mr. Jones previously chaired NCSC’s Retail Cargo Security Committee for two years. As Vice President, Corporate Loss Prevention and Security for Tommy Hilfiger USA, Mr. Jones is responsible for controlling all avenues of loss in both wholesale and retail operations. Mr. Jones has more than 30-years loss-prevention experience with Bamberger’s/Macy’s, Tiffany & Co. and The Home Shopping Network. David Jones is a Certified Protection Professional (CPP), as designated by the American Society for Industrial Security.
