SubscribeYED is a leading developer and manufacturer of Data Protocol Converters. This type equipment is employed where two or more systems operating on different data bus standards (ARINC429, ADF806, PANAVIA, RS422, MIL-STD-1553, etc) need to communicate with each other.
The conversions are fixed format so that only the specified translation or conversions are performed. There are many configurations for these converters as each customer's requirement is usually quite unique.
An example of a typical translation would be would be to extract flight data (Long., Lat., Cross Track, etc) from an FMS and translate this into NMEA0183 (RS422/RS232) for use by a Moving Map display unit.
The Converters are NOT intended for general-purpose translation of data such as the ARINC429 ‘Dongle’ type adapters. This sort of equipment is available from other manufacturers. The conversion criteria must be specified at time of order and only this conversion is performed (fixed format). The Converter ignores any other data on the incoming data bus and only transmits what is required.
Data Converters can be supplied as either uni-directional or bi-directional and are intended for autonomous operation without the need to be supported by external PC hardware or software.
Typical examples of uni-directional are MIL-STD-1553B RX to ARINC429 TX, ARINC429 RX to NMEA0183 TX., etc. Bi-directional would be RS232 RX to ARINC429 TX and ARINC429 RX to RS232 TX.
In addition to Bus to Bus translators we can also provide converters that extract specified data words and convert these into 0-10VDC output.

Data protocol converters can be supplied as standalone PCB assembly or enclosed in a flanged die cast box to be powered from a 9-36 volts DC aircraft supply.
Converters can also be designed, manufactured and certified to RTCA DO-160C for Environmental and EMI.
