SubscribeTriangel AS, a security reseller in the EET Nordic partner channel, and a Milestone Systems Certified Partner, has developed a flexible concept for IP video surveillance that also gathers weather and environmental data for use in harbour management.
A wide selection of camera models are available, from stationary to patrolling, whose images are shown and archived on a standard PC via a computer network connection. By using the internet technology for a centralized solution, operators can monitor more geographical locations simultaneously.
The digital images are archived on the PC server that has Milestone Systems video surveillance XProtect software installed. Advanced motion detection and alerting via email or SMS provide real advantages for improved management of the harbor activities, from traffic to customer safety and protection of property.
It is a robust solution with its own electrical supply from solar panels and a windmill generator to run the cameras. Image transfer is carried out via Wi-Fi/GSM or radio link, and is customizable to local needs.
Using the Milestone software also allows for integration with other systems and devices like port telephones, access control and alarms. Doors and lighting can be controlled from the security system in connection with the cameras.
Data from a series of sensors are also gathered and processed in data logs for graphical presentation of the weather situation to the harbor guards and on the ports' websites. The sensors are monitoring wind speed and direction, air pressure, humidity, water and air temperature, water levels, hours of daylight, measurement of water currents, height of waves and precipitation. The graphical presentation of this information is automatically updated via the internet connection at all times.
Some of the Norwegian harbors using the solution include those found in Ålesund, Drammen, Håholmen, Narvik, Tromsø and Trondheim.
