AMEC
Port, Freight, Bulk Terminal, Design, Project Management and Planning
AMEC specialises in the planning, design and project management of ports and marine facilities, including bulk terminals, material handling, storage facilities, and marine structures. We can help at every level of the projects life cycle worldwide, including dealing with extreme climates and we have over 50 years of knowledge in this sector
Port Efficiency Simulation and Modelling
International trade has seen continued growth and this upswing has put new pressure to modernize and improve port facilities worldwide. We use integrated supply chain planning, GIS and dynamic simulation modelling; we are able to choose the most efficient transportation routes and modes of transport for our clients' products. We combine these planning skills with multidiscipline engineering expertise to select port and intermodal sites and optimize capacities and handling rates.
Port Material Handling Studies
AMEC produce Feasibility studies and concept development. AMEC has helped study and develop some of the world's largest economic studies to identify the best ways to get products to the port, and then to their ultimate destinations. Our material handling specialists include experts in shiploaders and unloaders, storage facilities for dry and liquid bulk and barging and lightering systems.
Marine / Coastal Structure Design Surveys
Marine Structure Design Surveys and Assessment. Time and the elements can have a devastating effect on coastal communities and marine structures. We conduct geotechnical surveys and structural inspections, both above and below water, to optimize designs, assess damage and recommend repairs. We also conduct structural analyses and meteorological, wave and erosion studies to predict conditions and determine loadings, strength requirements and other design criteria.
Marine Trans-shipment Services
Marine support structures. The offshore oil and gas industry requires massive support facilities to construct and supply rigs, as well as to handle Marine Trans-shipment of product to market. We have decades of experience studying, designing and constructing such facilities, and we have been involved from the outset in the development of billion-dollar projects in Atlantic Canada.
