Dredging Grabs
Orts have also constructed unique grab solutions for clients across the globe, including a floating grab for collection of surface oil from water. The grab's robust design allows it to operate in rough weather conditions where other equipment fails.
At the start of the 1980's, ORTS introduced the first grab designs featuring completely enclosed buckets, for added environmental protection, together with 115-tonne salvage grabs for demolition and removal of ship wrecks. Orts' largest dredging grabs were been supplied for use in St Petersburg, in the mid 1980's.
Grab Maintenance and Repair
Orts' major clients include shipping corporations, requiring durable grabs able to withstand harsh maritime conditions, loading and unloading goods from ships across the world.
Orts' also offer grab maintenance and repair services, both for their own range of grabs, and for grabs purchased from other suppliers.

In the late 1990s, Orts took on the final technical drawings from the insolvent ZGS (previously 'TAKRAF VEB Schmiede und Schweißwerk Zwickau SSW', the primary grab producer in former East Germany. After an extended partnership with them of almost three decades, ORTS can supply (where drawings are accessible, spare parts for former customers of ZGS / TAKRAF VEB grabs.
Calculated over the lifespan of the grab, ORTS supply the most cost-effective grabs on the market. Our grabs are trustworthy, efficient and highly effective, requiring a minimum of maintenance and spare parts.
